About

Meet Dr. Sarah Wooten

Picture
Hi there! Nice to meet you.

I am a 2002 graduate of UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, and a member of the American Society of Veterinary Journalists. I have 16 years of experience in small animal general practice, and 10 years experience of writing and speaking. You may have seen me speak at veterinary conferences in the states or internationally, including Fetch, VMX, AAHA, AVMA, Canwest, or WVC to name a few. I love entertaining and educating the veterinary audience in unconventional ways, including using the game I co-created with my partner in crime, The Social DVM - Vets Against Insanity, to teach lessons (and have fun!). The topics I am most passionate about include customer service and communication, leadership development, and personal development.

I also love love love talking to pet parents and sharing information that will help you be a better pet parent. You may have seen my articles and videos on DVM360.com,
Firstline, Vetted, Healthy Pet Magazine, and The Bark Magazine, Vetstreet, Chewy.com. Pumpkin Pet Insurance, PetMD, the Hill's Education blog, and many other places.

I am a member in good standing of the AVMA, and USDA certified for international and interstate movement of animals.

I also co-own Elevated Eateries Restaurant Group with my husband of 22 years - our flagship restaurant is the Greeley Chophouse, so come visit us!

I currently reside part-time in Greeley, Colorado, and part-time in Silverthorne, Colorado. Together, my husband and I are raising 3 slightly feral mini-humans. I have one dog - a silly floof goldendoodle named Alma. She runs my house.

In my spare time, I can be found skiing in Colorado or diving shipwrecks surrounded by sharks. Life is meant to be lived, so go out there and have some fun!
