Veterinary Advisory & Launch Support for Pet Brands

Veterinary strategy for pet brands navigating complex messaging,
product launches, and growth.

When the science is credible but the messaging is fragmented, a product is moving toward launch, or leadership needs ongoing veterinary judgment, a one-time review may not be enough. I help pet health, nutrition, supplement, wellness, and animal care companies build a clear communication system, apply it during high-stakes initiatives, and bring veterinary perspective into business decisions earlier.
You do not need to choose the right engagement before contacting me.
Tell me what your team is trying to solve, what is going live, and where veterinary involvement would help.
I will recommend the smallest level of support that fits.

When Veterinary Expertise Needs to Work Upstream

Many companies first involve a veterinarian after the copy is written, the claims are selected,
or the launch is already moving. At that point, a veterinarian can flag problems,
but the expensive decisions may already have been made.

Advisory and launch support bring veterinary judgment into the work earlier.

Depending on the engagement, that may mean:

✅ Creating a shared messaging architecture before teams and agencies produce more assets
✅ Connecting scientific support, claims, proof points, and customer-facing language
✅ Applying approved communication principles consistently during a launch or relaunch
✅ Resolving veterinary and scientific questions while decisions can still be refined
✅ Giving leadership ongoing veterinary perspective across products, partnerships, campaigns, and future initiatives

The objective is not to just add a veterinary seal of approval. It is to help the organization make clearer, more defensible, and more commercially useful decisions.

Three Levels of Advisory & Launch Support

Picture
The right level depends on whether your organization needs a communication system, active implementation support, or continuing access to senior veterinary judgment.

Veterinary Messaging Strategy

For brands with credible science but fragmented, inconsistent, or difficult-to-use messaging.

Veterinary Messaging Strategy creates the communication system your organization can use across leadership, marketing, product teams, agencies, retail partners, customer education, and future launches. Instead of editing individual assets one at a time, this engagement establishes how the brand should communicate going forward.

Core question: How should a scientifically credible pet brand communicate so veterinarians trust it, consumers understand it, and the business grows?

This Engagement May Include:
✅ Messaging architecture and message house
✅ Scientific narrative, proof structure, and claims architecture
✅ Communication boundaries and approved language library
✅ Executive messaging principles and a 90-day implementation roadmap
✅ Three executive working sessions for discovery, alignment, and leadership handoff

Best Fit When:
🔀 Different teams or agencies describe the same product differently
🧬 The science is stronger than the current brand story
🔗 Claims, evidence, positioning, and customer-facing language do not yet work as one system
🏗️ Leadership wants an approved foundation before a launch, portfolio expansion, or agency transition

Typical timing: Approximately 3 to 6 weeks, depending on scope, source-material readiness, stakeholder availability, and the complexity of the products and scientific support.

Launch & Implementation Support

For brands launching or relaunching a product, entering a new market, or putting an approved communication strategy into practice.

Launch & Implementation Support provides active veterinary strategy and communication guidance while approved materials are being developed and refined. It helps leadership, internal teams, and agencies apply established scientific, claims, messaging, and veterinary principles consistently during a defined launch or major marketing initiative.

Core question: How do we implement the approved communication strategy consistently and launch with confidence?

This Engagement May Include:
✅ Launch-specific veterinary implementation guidance
✅ Scientific communication, claims, and messaging guidance as materials evolve
✅ Veterinary credibility and customer-communication recommendations
✅ Review of defined launch assets within agreed limits
✅ A kickoff session, biweekly strategy meetings, and a final launch-readiness review

Best Fit When :
🚀 A product launch, relaunch, retail expansion, or major campaign is already moving
🗂️ The strategic foundation exists, but teams need help applying it across real assets and decisions
⛐ Claims or messaging are drifting as agencies and stakeholders interpret the strategy
❔Veterinary and scientific questions need answers before production or distribution

Typical structure: A minimum two-month monthly engagement. Duration is based on the launch schedule, approved assets, stakeholders, agencies, markets, and implementation complexity.

Veterinary Medical Advisory
For companies that need ongoing senior veterinary judgment across products, communication, partnerships, and business decisions.

Veterinary Medical Advisory is an ongoing strategic relationship rather than a single project or launch engagement. It gives leadership continuing access to veterinary judgment, scientific communication guidance, and practical executive input across an approved scope.

Core question:
How do we continue making better business decisions as our organization grows?

This Engagement May Include:

✅ Executive veterinary strategy
✅ Scientific communication and claims guidance
✅ Strategic veterinary input on product and portfolio decisions
✅ Marketing, agency, and cross-functional consultation
✅ Monthly executive strategy meetings and office hours, plus quarterly planning
✅ Timely clarification between meetings within the approved scope

Best Fit When:
⚕️ Veterinary questions routinely affect leadership, product, marketing, partnership, or portfolio decisions
🔗 The company needs continuity across multiple initiatives rather than a new expert for each project
☑️ Leadership wants veterinary perspective before significant decisions are finalized
🤝 The organization is ready to integrate veterinary judgment into routine decision-making

Engagement model: A recurring monthly advisory relationship with scope, capacity, meeting cadence, and initial term defined in the proposal and agreement.

Which Level Fits Your Business?

Swipe horizontally to compare all three options.

Business Need Messaging Strategy Launch Support Medical Advisory
Primary Need Build the system Apply the system Make better ongoing decisions
Time Horizon Defined project Defined launch or initiative Continuing relationship
Main Output Messaging architecture and roadmap Launch guidance and readiness Ongoing executive veterinary judgment
Meeting Rhythm Three working sessions Kickoff, biweekly meetings, and final review Monthly meetings, office hours, and quarterly planning
Execution Not included Guidance during implementation, not project management Strategic advice, not operational execution

How the Four Service Levels Connect

The four services form a logical progression, but they are not a mandatory sequence. A company can begin at the appropriate level when the necessary foundation is already in place.

Veterinary Claims & Messaging Review: Assesses and prioritizes existing claims, science, communication, and messaging.

Veterinary Messaging Strategy: Builds the aligned messaging hierarchy, claims structure, and language guardrails the organization will use.

Launch & Implementation Support: Applies the approved strategy during a launch, relaunch, or major marketing initiative.

Veterinary Medical Advisory: Provides ongoing senior veterinary judgment as the organization and its decisions evolve.

Relevant prior work becomes the foundation for the next engagement rather than being repeated. If it materially reduces the new scope, any applicable credit will be identified in the subsequent proposal.

What Advisory Support Does Not Mean

These engagements provide veterinary strategy and judgment. Unless specifically included in a written proposal or separate statement of work, they do not include:
🚫 Legal advice, formal regulatory opinions, regulatory submissions, or guaranteed compliance
🚫 Product formulation, dosing, safety substantiation, clinical protocol development, or technical product approval
🚫 Full copywriting, graphic design, website implementation, advertising production, or content production
🚫 Project management, launch ownership, campaign execution, media buying, or agency supervision
🚫 Endorsements, testimonials, interviews, photography, video production, or public-facing expert participation

LPayment for advisory or implementation services does not grant public or commercial use of Dr. Sarah Wooten's name, credentials, image, likeness, voice, quotes, testimonials, or video. Any such use requires a separate written Veterinary Expert Licensing Agreement.

How We Begin

1. Complete the Pet Brand Project Intake by clicking the button below. Tell me about the company, product, initiative, timeline, budget, and what is going live.
2. I review the information personally. I identify whether this appears to be a fit and which engagement is likely to solve the actual business problem.
3. Qualified projects move to a discovery conversation. We clarify scope, stakeholders, source materials, deliverables, boundaries, timing, and any public-use needs.

Investment

Strategic engagements typically begin around $2,000, with final pricing based on scope and complexity. Monthly launch and advisory engagements are priced according to the capacity, meeting cadence, products, stakeholders, and duration involved.

Public use of my name, credentials, quotes, image, likeness, voice, video, or a veterinary designation is scoped separately from the underlying advisory work.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I Need to Know Which Service Level I Need?

No. Most companies recognize the business problem before they know the correct engagement. Complete the project intake, and I will recommend the smallest level of support that fits.

Do We Have to Begin With a Claims and Messaging Review?

No. A prior review can provide a useful foundation, but companies may begin with Veterinary Messaging Strategy, Launch & Implementation Support, or Veterinary Medical Advisory when sufficient evidence, strategic context, communication infrastructure, and organizational readiness already exist.

What Is the Difference Between Messaging Strategy and Launch Support?

Veterinary Messaging Strategy builds the communication system. Launch & Implementation Support helps your team apply an established system during a defined launch or major initiative. Launch support does not recreate the full strategy unless that work is separately added to scope.

What Is the Difference Between Launch Support and Medical Advisory?

Launch & Implementation Support is tied to a defined launch or initiative. Veterinary Medical Advisory is an ongoing executive relationship across approved products, communication, partnerships, and business decisions. A major launch requiring concentrated implementation work may still need a separate Launch & Implementation Support scope even when an advisory relationship is active.

Will You Manage Our Agency or Launch?

No. I provide veterinary strategy and scientific communication guidance. Your company remains responsible for project management, production, asset routing, consolidated feedback, deadlines, approvals, legal and regulatory review, and operational execution.

Is This Legal or Regulatory Approval?

No. This is independent veterinary and regulatory-informed guidance, not legal advice, regulatory counsel, formal approval, or a compliance guarantee. I can collaborate with your legal or regulatory specialists when appropriate.

Can We Use Your Name or Credentials After the Engagement?

Not automatically. Public or commercial use of my professional identity, quotes, image, likeness, voice, testimonials, video, or a veterinary designation requires a separate written licensing agreement defining the approved materials, channels, territories, term, and fees.

Can a Project Become an Ongoing Advisory Relationship?

Yes, when there is a genuine need for continuing senior veterinary judgment. Prior work becomes the strategic foundation, and the advisory scope is then built around the organization's ongoing needs and capacity requirements.
